i discovered this shampoo when I was living in peru.it is the best shampoo ever.the smell is uniquely lovely and i love what it does for my hair.my hair rarely looks greasy now.i stocked up on it before i came back and now i'm gonna have to order more.its a little disappointing having to pay $25 per bottle when in peru I bought 2 bottles for the equivelant of $8.

I purchased this conditioner with the matching shampoo and both are horribly drying to my hair. Their fragrance is fantastic and it will stay in your hair all day but my hair feels like I washed with dishwashing liquid after using this. Had I paid full price, I would have returned them but instead I use a tiny bit of this with my regular shampoo and conditioner simply to use it up and to reap some benefit of the nice fragrance.

I've used Suave hair shampoo for ages. Suave Citrus Smoothie, a newer version of regular Suave hair shampoo, does a great job when I use it to wash my hair in the shower. It is inexpensive and it gets my hair clean and fresh smelling. There is a citrus scent to this shampoo but it will not overwhelm you--and it fights against any natural body odor that can occur throughout anyone's day as well. The 15 fluid ounce bottle is easy to hold onto even in the shower; and Suave also helps to make my rapidly thinning hair to stay its fullest.

It's easy enough to use: just wet your hair, pour some on and scrub! It feels great and your head feels cleaner for it. Just like they say, it rids your hair of dirt and oil. The Vitamin E and milk protein help to cleanse your hair and freshen it. You may want to shampoo your hair twice for extra super-duper cleanliness; that's up to you. I love this stuff!This is the best hair dye I have ever used!I naturally have dark brown hair but I had bleach highlights in my hair when I used this.My hair did not turn any funny colors which is usually what happens when you try to dye bleached hair dark again.It looks very natural.I am so happy with Herbatint!Plus there is less chemicals then regular boxed hair dye!Another thing I liked is that you can save the leftover dye because the stuff comes in two containers that you mix equal parts with.So, if you are just doing your roots you could get quite a few applications out of one box.I also liked that there was no strong smell like there is with a lot of other dyes.The only drawback is that you need somthing to mix the product in and also a brush or somthing to apply it.

I bought this shampoo at the local health food store because it was more reasonably priced than Burts Bees stuff. The price seems like a lot, but you only need such a tiny amount of it at a time that the bottle lasts forever. It also smells great and lathers really well, without being too sudsy. It's not tear-free, but it rinses so easily that it's not really an issue. It doesn't stick to everything and leave that slimy residue like most baby shampoos and washes do. I've even gotten a small amount in my son's eyes on accident and he didn't really seem too bothered by it. It leaves his hair a little dry, but other than that I love it and plan to use it with my next baby, as well.

If you don't like this stuff, you're using it wrong.

I love this wax. I just started using it last summer.

It doesn't come with any strips. You apply it like regular wax, and wait for it to solidify a little bit. You dont have to flatten it out to get it to stick to the hairs like you do with the cloth/paper strips. Thats because this is a better type of wax. Its special at getting hairs down under...

It comes with a small pair of trimming scissors, a few popsicle stick applicators, a cloth pair of underwear...which i dont understand lol...and wax, and this azulene oil.

The oil is for getting the little bits of wax off after you're done. You can apply it using a cotton ball, and the wax is so easy to remove.

It lasts for a couple weeks. I don't really keep track. Maybe like a month depending on how fast your hair grows.

And yes, its gonna be painful. But its something that you get used to. I actually like to wax now.And my husband likes it also! :)

i was really excited when i came across the organic haircare line since i am trying to use personal care products without parabens and other harmful chemicals, but i have been very disappointed with the effectiveness of the products.my hair has always been very thick, shiny and healthy and after a few months of using the lavendar shampoo and conditioner my scalp was dry and itchy and my ends became dry and brittle.at first i didn't attribute it to the shampoo but after going on vacation and using a different product for about a week i noticed a significant improvement- my hair looked much healthier.i have now switched or another organic shampoo (australian organics) and am much happier with the results.

After I read the only review of this shampoo, I felt that I must tell my real experience with this shampoo.
When I bought the shampoo, I was hoping that my hair (usually oily and so become flat easily) would have more volume after I use it. My hair does become more bouncy after wash, but it was only because it striped both the hair and scalp too dry. In reaction to the dryness, my scalp become even more oily quikly and dandruff comes out. I strongly recommend whoever has oily hair stays away with it.

Review of emWave PC Stress Relief System

This latest version of Freeze-Framer is an excellent tool for the home user to practice relaxation and learn to synchronize the two branches of the autonomic nervous system. In HearthMath terms this state is called high coherence and represents a heart rate variability pattern where the sympathetic (excitatory) and parasympathetic (calming) parts of the autonomic nervous system are in balance. In more simple terms, it represents a state of less chaos in the nervous system which simply means we are in an optimum state that favors good health.

With respect to the software itself, it has a nice user interface, is easy to use and you don't have to have a technical or medical background to get the full benefit from it. In fact, you don't have to understand the technology at enjoy the benefits! That's one of the things I most like.

This software is particularly good for people who are working with stress management, pranayama, meditation or other relaxation techniques and want to see the affects on their nervous system and heart. How it does this is by exploiting monitoring heart rate variability from moment-to-moment. By practicing meditation, various breathing techniques or relaxation exercises one can see the affects on the nervous system as manifested in changes in heart rate variability (HRV). This data is shown graphically along with other useful information such as the percentage of time spent in the session in high, medium and low coherence. There is also graphical and audio feedback to let you know whether you are in high, medium or low coherence in a given moment. You can also measure pulse waves and see your pulse rate at any given time.

This software also allows you to save past sessions, change many options and increase the thresholds for the various states of coherence. This allows you to keep things challenging as you get better at achieving a state of balance. There are also a variety of games available for you to practice your skills outside of the main program.

This package also comes with some useful tutorials and good online help. It is very simple to use and doesn't have a busy or complicated user interface or instructions. I do a fair amount of biofeedback work on some very expensive equipment and I find that this program has most of the things I need for heart rate variability measurements at a low price. This makes it ideal for home users or people contemplating more in-depth biofeedback work.

If you want to no more about the theory behind this product and how it could help you, you can look at HeartMath's website or do a search on the book "THE HEARTMATH SOLUTION" by Doc Childre and Howard Martin. You can also search on biofeedback, heart rate variability and respiratory sinus arrhythmia on the web. While I don't necessary agree with everything the HEARTHMATH SOLUTION says, I think it makes some excellent points that have been validated scientifically and that I've found to be true in my own experience and the experience of my clients.

I think one of the most powerful uses of this software is to see how different emotional states affect coherence such as anger, compassion, love, anxiety, etc. For most people, it's a very visceral experience to see how states of love and compassion correlate to maximum coherence. It is also an eye opener to see how anger and other negative emotions cause these physiological states to deteriorate.

I also teach various types of meditation including loving-kindness and forgiveness meditation. This software is an excellent accompaniment to this type of practice or pranayama work in yoga.

In summary, I think this is a great investment for busy people trying to find a simple stress management practice, yoga practioners and meditators. It will help you to develop higher awareness of your anxiety levels and other emotional states. It could also be used in combination with therapy for anger management and other issues in a very effective manner. The tutorial also gives you beginning instruction on how to increase your coherence on your own and points you to other more in-depth resources.

If you have depression or other serious difficulties in your life then I recommend checking in with a professional as to the suitability of this product. Some things just can't be treated on your solely on your own and I have found that deep relaxation practices without guidance when there are serious issues going on can evoke anxiety or strong emotions. For the average person, however, this shouldn't be an issue.

Review of Shikai - Borage Childrens Lotion 8 Oz

Our daughter is 6 mos. old and has had pretty severe eczema for most of her life so far. We bought this as yet another experiment to see if it would help her skin, and unfortunately it was clear right away that it wasn't going to work. While I love the way it smooths onto her skin, after about 20 minutes her skin always turns an inflamed red and breaks out into what look like hives. From there, the cycle begins and is really bad for about the next 24 hours. Some lotions just irritate her skin temporarily, but this stuff really seems to do a number on her. To me, it seems to suffocate her delicate skin as it is SO oily. So I've already had to retire it to the "rejected" pile, after using it just 5 or 6 times.

On the bright side, this lotion is great for my skin! Granted, I don't have eczema or skin issues at all, just your average occasional dry spots. But it feels really nice and smells good, and for the price, I'll definitely be using every drop!

So all-in-all, I do think this is a nice enough product, just not for the intended purpose that it is advertised for.

Review of Loreal Skin Genesis Multi Layer Cell Strengthening Daily Treatment Serum Concentrate Lotion, 1.7 Oz

For the past two weeks my poor skin has been literally Burning and Itching, no matter what I put on it, due to the harsh Wisconsin weather this year, there was one product that almost worked but then broke my skin out, sigh. My skin was also very red... I tried two other serums, a less expensive moisturizer and a very expensive moisturizer...to no avail. I am 30 years old, with reasonably good skin most of the time as long as I take good care of it. My skin is dry but also combination in some spots and SUPER sensitive, it will also break out if it doesn't like ingredients in the moisturizer I try to use.
Now that I have turned 30, I am even more concerned about my skin then before. I occasionally have smile lines when I smile and the occasional two forehead lines when I'm stressed, but so far this along with the moisturizer seems to take care of those no problem. I try to take very good care of my skin and I always remember sunblock due to one of my medications, so imagine my surprise when one day I woke up and couldn't get my skin to stop being inflamed and itching. This serum along with the matching Skin genesis moisturizer with spf15 are lifesavers. After only one use almost all of the redness and irritation was gone, that quickly!!! I am very pleased...... oh yea and my skin looks beautiful and glowing....thats the best part!!!!

Oh yea, I should probably mention, I have rheumatoid arthritis and I am on countless medications, so my skin and haircare have a lot to combat.:)

I will also post a quick review of the moisturizer with SPF 15 and look for the review of the new skin wash I am using now as well, thanks to other member reviews on the product. If it wasn't for their reviews, I would never have thought to try a new skin wash.:)

This is a nice light lotion. It soaks in quickly and leaves skin soft. If you're looking for a thick, heavy lotion, this isn't it. It's one of my favorites. I looked up each ingredient on the cosmetics database site and this lotion is safe (no parabens, chemical fragance, or other funky junk).

Review of Sally Hansen Complete Care 4-N-1 X-Moist Treatment .5 oz.

I have nothing nice to say about this product, or any Sally Hansen product for that matter. I happened to purchase this product only after I could not locate my favorite Barielle nail care products at my local drugstores.

BIG BIG MISTAKE!!

Within a few short weeks of using these products, my nails started breaking, chipping and peeling in layers, which is something that has never happened to me before! My once perfect ten (thanks to Barielle nail care products, shameless plug!) had become a hideous ragged mess!

If I were smart I would have asked the beauty experts at the drugstores; their main consensus in my area was that Sally Hansen products are 'inferior' compared to the others. I couldn't agree more!

I have since managed to find my Barielle products again and am honestly amazed at how fast my nails are recovering and growing after this fiasco.

My SH products are now in the dumpster where they belong!

If you're like me, your beard is not uniform in color. In my case, my mustache is brownish, the hair around my chin is almost pure white, and the hair on the sides of my face is dusty blonde with gray mixed in, salt and pepper style. I didn't want to make it unnaturally uniform in color (and kind of like the salt and pepper), so I started conservatively (after doing a skin patch test!) and tweaked it over a period of days. Beard hair is apparently difficult to dye, and it took three (modest) applications to get my chin blonde to a degree that I was happy with. My advice: Don't slather generous amounts over your entire beard at once. Take it one step at a time, focusing on the patches with the most gray. I read a negative review of another shade of this same line, but the reviewer was complaining that his skin had a bad reaction to the new formula, while it never had before. Well, the directions are pretty clear: do a skin patch test before every use of a new kit, no matter how many times you've done it before. Don't criticize the product because your failure to follow to directions led you to have a bad experience. I followed directions, and am pretty happy with the results.

Review of Fantasia Straightening Spray Heat Protector 6 oz.

I'm truly satisfied with this product. Why go out and spend like 30 dollars on the more "name brand" products when for under ten you get the same if not better heat protection. It has a wonderful watermelon scent and it's not oily or greasy. Plus it's great for flat ironing your hair or even blow drying it. Give it a try.

Review of Garnier Color Breaks 002 Dark Blonde To Light Brown Dimensional Lightener - Kit

I've been dying my hair for about 10 years, but I never seen to have much success with highlights. I've tried different highlighting kits (included one with a pull-through cap, which I HATED), but this one is the best. I used Kit no. 2, for Dark Blonde to Light Brown hair. It seems this product was designed with color-treated hair in mind, although the product says you can you it on your natural hair color as well.

This highlighting kit is really easy to use. You just mix two products in the bowl provided for you, and voila! You're ready to go! The tool provided makes it easy to paint the highlights onto you hair. I was worried my highlights would turn brassy, but that wasn't the case. I didn't leave it on for the whole 20 minutes (highlights always come on so light, so I panic and wash out early!), but I still ended up with a natural look w/ defined, subtle highlights.

It's definitely worth it! I highly recommend it.

For the record, my hair was dyed dark blonde when I used this.

Review of Cortex Ceramic Flat Iron - Black 1''

This product gets the job done well!I have very thick blonde hair that is somewhere between wavy, frizzy, and curly.I use this product every day and haven't had any problems with it.It gets VERY hot - the dial states 392 degrees F.From my experience, the hotter the iron gets the more effective it will be, because it reduces the number of times I have to re-iron each section (therefore keeping the heat exposure minimal). I have tried more expensive salon models and achieved great results - but this straightener has achieved the same results and has lasted longer (I've used it for about a year now). The cheaper irons always made my hair get caught on the edges of the plates and snag - this iron glides over my hair smoothly and straightens effectively.The plates are completely ceramic (not the cheap metal plates with a painted on coat of ceramic that unevenly distribute heat).The ceramic plates also add a nice shine to my hair.This iron works well in combination with glossing products and sheer mist sprays for extra added shine.Product works best if hair is COMPLETELY dry.

To use:
plug in wall outlet, set to desired temperature (highest temp for me).In about 1 minute the iron will be hot enough to use.Close iron around thin section of hair near the scalp and slowly glide down to the ends of your hair while pulling away from head.The thinner the section you use - the sleeker it will look.I have to tie off sections of my hair since it is so thick.Spray on a shine mist before or after ironing sections for extra shine.

Note: This product did not operate on a converter for 220/240 V.It only works when I plug it into a U.S. 110/120 V wall outlet.

Review of Nature's Gate Organics Fruit Blend Conditioner, Asian Pear and Red Tea, 12-Ounce Bottles (Pack of 3)

The first thing I did after receiving this was pop open the cap and give it a whiff. It's...atypical, and I was even frustrated that I was stuck with a whole 3 pack of it at first. I think I read a review of it somewhere that likened the smell to "cold tea." I wouldn't disagree. HOWEVER, within the first day I used this stuff, I had my roommate, among others, tell me how great my hair smelled. And the quality of it in terms of actual conditioning is right on par with other Nature's Gate conditioner, which is to say, MOST EXCELLENT. My hair is pretty curly so it's always thirsty... SO. I've decided I love this stuff. Whether you'll like the smell is anyone's guess, (it's definitely grown on me,) but considereing my hair lovvvves it, I'm a convert. (And this is a much better price than even what big box stores are selling it at.)

Review of Iso Beauty Turbo Silk Flat Iron, Green

I bought this flat iron for my recent trip to Germany and France. This iron worked well overseas, as well as back home. I didn't need to buy a power converter, only an adapter. While I specifically bought it for my trip, I now use it regularly at home too. I am biracial and have curly, frizz-prone hair. This iron does a good job of taming frizz. I like the curls I get from this better than my curling iron, and they last longer. Now this straightener can't do spiral curls, but you can flip your hair under. It doesn't get as hot as my other flat iron, which is probably a good thing. I am very pleased with this iron and would buy it again.
