Review of Epilady Duet 3 Epilator

After my original Epilady that I bought and used for 20 years finally broke, I purchased the "new and improved" Epilady Duet 3.Sadly, the new design doesn't work half as good and the razor feature is a nice thought but is worthless.I wish I could find an old model that still worked, the coil design was much better.

I've had wonderful results with this product.I've used it when I need a touch up but I haven't had the time to permanently do my touch up.It's really easy to put on, I thought, and when it dries doesnot come off until I wash my hair-makes it look like I must have completly done my hair.I don't know how long it will last so I don't really know if it's overly expensive but it seems expensive compared to other products but this was the first one I tried and I think it's great.Anyway,it was a pleasant surprise and it just took a little practice to use the small comb - it is very helpful.

Review of Nurture My Body Organic Volumizing Shampoo SLS Free for Fine, Limp Hair

Years ago I was a sales rep for a cosmetic ingredient company. Meaning I didn't work for any cosmetic companies specifically, but sold the ingredients to large manufacturers through a broker. Because of this, I learned a wealth of information that I've taken with me though that career has long since past

(for example, did you know almost every acne medication is the exact same thing if it's over the counter? Even the expensive proactive ones. You can only put 2% salicylic acid in it per law over the counter. They are all this with other inert ingredients or 10% benzoyl peroxide and inert ingredients. Just buy the cheapest and read the labels)

As for shampoos, what I learned from the cosmetic scientists and companies changed how I buy them forever. Did you know we are the ONLY country who buys shampoos with Sodium Laryl Sulfate or Sodium Laureth Sulfate in them? These are the exact same stripping agents used in FLOOR CLEANER. But it's for marketing. Americans equate foaming with clean so those that foam less, even if they work better, don't sell as well...so the majority of companies add them in because they are big foamers.

However they completely strip your hair and cause breakage.Once I started going to Whole Foods or Central Market and buying my shampoos without it, I never stopped...even though it's been years since I learned this. Every time I get my haircut somewhere the stylist says "you are lucky at your age you don't have to dye your hair" or something to that effect. I always say "but I do dye my hair" and they say "but your hair is in incredible shape and is really shiny. Do you not blow dry it or use a curling iron?" and I tell em I do that too.

The difference is I don't strip out all the moisture with my shampoo!

I need good cleaning shampoo mind you...I work out hard 6 days a week.

This, fortunately is good for your hair and non stripping. The other ingredients only make it better...very natural and GOOD. My hair gleams.

I also like the glass bottle. It's actually PRETTY to have out on your tub or in your shower.

Negative? The price is so high. I consider it worth it in some aspects as it's the best one I've found ingredient-wise, but I'll be honest, I don't use this daily just because of the cost.I buy a shampoo called Pure that's also SLS free. I don't like the ingredients in that one as much but I can't afford to splurge for a daily wash with one priced this high so I buy that other one when it's on sale and vary it out for a win/win. However, if I COULD afford this one only for daily washes I'd use it exclusively.

It does wind up being cheaper here since when ordered through amazon there is no tax.

Review of Epilady Epic Electric Rechargeable Wet/Dry Shaver

This shaver has been a pain ever since I bought it. The inside area is covered in some sort of sticky residue that restricts the blades from moving, so I have to clean it as much as possible just to get it to turn on. When it does turn on, it moves very slowly so that I can feel every hair being shaved (ouch). The on/off button rarely works, so it takes me a good 20 tries or so to get it on/off. The round shape, too, makes it difficult to reach spots where you want precision, like the bikini line because you can't get close enough. I would definitely not recommend this product to anyone.

Review of Jason Natural Products Color Enhancing Shampoo

I am trying to go all-natural with all my personal products. Finding a good shampoo has been the most difficult. Of all the ones I've tried, this one is my favorite so far. Lathers well and keeps my color. Also, unlike most natural products, the smell of this shampoo is subtle. (I hate things that are too smelly!)
Word of warning- wrap it up well if you take it with you traveling. I had some leak on clothes and they were permanently stained.

This product is actually the best eyebrow wax removal method i've seen. It only hurts a tad when hair is removed, and i've never had a bunk removal.
When you put the strips on, press from the inside of your brow toward the outside (with hair growth), and when you pull them off be certain to hold your skin down on the outside and pull QUICKLY from the outside toward the inside. Then you won't have any trouble!
The size and shape of the strips is perfect, but keep a pair of scissors handy to trim excess plastic to help you place them exactly where they go.
I'm ordering more today after finishing my first box, which lasted several months!

This flat iron is tiny, it was even smaller than I expected and it looks like a toy for your daughter's doll but don't be fooled it's worth it weight and then some. It heats up fast and does fantastic curls that hold. It is compact enough to take in a clutch or purse for quick touch ups. I also have the 1" by John Eber ($25) that I bought for my daughetr, I was impressed with that as well, it worked as good as my $260 FHI, and I've since stopped using my FHI. Oh don't forget it's also dual voltage, for those trips to Europe and elsewhere!

Review of Surya Henna Henna Cream - Mahogany

First, be warned that this is NOT a nice, super-safe, all natural herbal henna hair color! The advertising and packaging are very misleading. The main ingredients in this preparation are Ethoxydiglicol (helps the dye penetrate the hair shaft), which is NOT recognized as safe in Europe and even worse is the Methylpyrrolidone which is an industrial solvent! There are other less than innocuous ingredients including monoethanalomine and mineral oil. This is all listed in micro-size print on the bottom flap of the box and requires a magnifying glass to read. On the side of the box they list all the warm, fuzzy, safe, "natural" ingredients in large type with little pictures.

Since the "natural, herbal" ingredients comprise far less of this product than the "questionable unnatural" ingredients, I think this is just plain unethical, especially given their web site advertisements making it sound as if their product is so much safer than hair dyes with ammonia, PPD and peroxide, which is just not true. PPD looks to be bad news but is it worse than coating your scalp with an industrial solvent and leaving it on for 45 minutes??!! Ammonia and peroxide dry out your hair, but so do Ehtyoxydiglicol (which acts similar to hydrogen peroxide) and mineral oil.

That being said, it did color my gray quickly and easily with the first application and the resulting color is very nice. I mixed Mahogany with Burgundy as Mahagany is orangish -brown and Burgundy is pinkish brown and together they gave me a fairly natural look. However, my hair was VERY dry and felt awful after I put the dye on it. I used an intensive conditionerafter the next 3 shampoos which helped quite a bit.

Overall, I am not sure I would use this product again. I like the color and the ease with which it goes on and I like the fact that it covers gray so well, but I don't like the false advertising of this company and I don't like the way the product made my hair feel. I had been using typical consumer hair coloring products(L'Oreal and Clairol) for years and I don't think I will go back to them either. I want something safer, but effective and I think I will keep looking.

Review of Herbatint Permanent Herbal Haircolour Gel, 1N, Black, 4.56-Ounces (Pack of 2)

This was the best price available online for two packs of the Herbatint.My hair is very thick and coarse, and the length is about 1-2 inches past shoulder-length - 1-1/2 bottles was more than enough to completely cover all my hair.The kit comes with flimsy gloves, color, developer, instructions (complete with full color chart), and conditioner; you will need to buy an applicator bottle or bowl to store the mixed color.The color (1N) took hold almost immediately but I left it on for the recommended 40 minutes.The color barely stained my skin around my hairline and scalp and what was stained came off very easily.There was no scalp irritation or awful chemical smell.

After 40 minutes and a shampoo & cool water rinse until the water ran clear, I noticed my hair wasn't as soft as it usually is after any kind of color treatment.I applied both packets of conditioner (one from each of the packages of color), let it sit for 5 minutes, and followed with a cool water rinse.That remedied the texture issue as my hair air-dried to a soft and shiny finish.The color is as described (1N) - natural jet black with no blue undertone.It didn't look flat like some black haircolors can and the shine only helps to enhance the richness and depth.

I've only washed my hair twice since coloring it and I found some color in my rinse water but I expect as much with the initial washes.It is pricier than the usual drugstore brands but you are paying for quality natural ingredients with minimal chemicals.Your hair shows the difference!

My wife loves this shampoo. But the perfume, or scent, nearly makes me nauseated. No other shampoo, or bath product, has ever affected me like this one does. It does not bother my wife or my son. I can be sound asleep when my wife takes a shower and the smell wafts into the bedroom and wakes me up. Even with the bathroom door shut and the fan on, enough molecules of scent escape to wake me and make me feel awful. My wife had to stop using it. She would give it 5 stars, I would give it one star for its very strong scent which only bothers me. Sometimes my son uses it and the smell goes across the lower level of the house, up the stairs, and across the livingroom to my chair and finds my nose. You might want to see if the manufacturer would send you a sample to make sure that it agrees with all of your family members.

This conditioner is great, makes hair very manageable and shiny.I used Pantene ProV before, then decided to switch to Syrya Henna brand and am very happy with it. The only complaint I have that the substance is relatively thick and it is very hard to get it out once the bottle is half-empty. It would be much more convenient if it was in a jar with wide enough opening to be able to get the substance out of it.

This stuff holds the hair just fine, but I can't get past the smell...it's just awful! I have considered buying some essential oil of one smell or another and adding it to the hair spray just to make it smell better. I don't know if this would make it lose its' holding properties, but as it is now I don't use it, so if it failed after that addition, oh well.

Review of Sally Hansen Lavender Spa Wax Remover Kit For Body

I have been using this product for a while--and it is getting increasingly difficult to find in stores.It is SO much less expensive than going to the spa for a leg wax, and it is very effective at removing hair.I would say that each jar gives me about 3 waxes-provided that I have enough strips left-although it gets a bit less effective as I get down towards the bottom of the jar & I have to keep reheating to keep it from getting to glue-y.I also find it to not be irritating at all--I'm not sure if the oil that comes with it actually does something, or if the wax itself is just more gentle.


Forgot to Mention: The purple oil that comes with the wax is also about the only thing that will help REMOVE the wax once it's on something.I've gotten it off of glass, my skin/ nails, and a ceramic counter by pouring on a little wax and then rubbing it off with my hands/ scratching it off with my nail.I dont know if it would work miracles on clothes or other fabrics as well, but its best you dont try to tempt fate!!
I typically have to reheat the wax 2 or 3 times during the waxing process because I find it most effective when the wax issomewhat thin. I agree that it is a serious pain to clean up--if you get it on any clothes/furniture, etc, forget about it.I always sit on the same towel when I wax my legs, and no matter how many times i wash it, the purple stains remain.So be careful.

My hair type is 3c/4a/4b which is tightly coiled, very curly, and kinky hair. I only use shampoo once a week and was looking for a shampoo that would clean my scalp and not dry my hair out. I chose Nature's Gate because I love their conditioner, it is the only moisturizing conditioner I use. The ingredients in this shampoo were really good, almost all natural, no cones, no sulfates, and no parabens. While the shampoo cleaned my scalp, it dried my hair out.
I only used a little, maybe two cap fulls, and massaged my scalp for almost a minute. This shampoo lathers beautifully, smells amazing, and does its job. So while I enjoyed having a squeaky clean scalp, my hair actually squeaked when I rubbed it together, my hair became matted and tangled. I wound up spending the next hour trying to detangle my hair from all of the knots and matting in my hair. It was also extremely dry. This was one of the worst shampoo experiences I've had. I would not recommend this for curly haired guys/girls.
I gave this shampoo 3 stars because it cleaned my scalp and has awesome ingredients. It smells AMAZING too!

Review of Morrocco Method 100% Natural and Organic Instant Chi Conditioner

I'm always looking for ways to do spa style treatments at home and this Chi Hair Conditioner is perfect because it has a wonderful blend of natural ingredients to deeply condition the hair.

The first time I tried this conditioner after the shampoo, I noticed it wasn't creamy like a normal conditioner, but was a little gritty - like crushed spices. The list of ingredients is very impressive and I figured out how to use this for maximum results. To make this a more comforting conditioner, also buy some Lush American Cream conditioner or use this with any natural conditioner.

First use the Pine Shale Shampoo, massaging it into your scalp. Then leave on for a few minutes, add in some Shikai Color Reflect shampoo (or any other shampoo you have) and it will wash out perfectly. Then, apply the conditioner, maybe with something you already have because this is a little gritty, but still very nourishing. It makes you feel like you are at a spa, so worth giving this a try.

The ingredients include kelp, nori, kombu, conditioning herbs, cactus, green tea, olive oil, crystals from Tibet, herbs and spices and apple cider vinegar. It is really an impressive list of ingredients.

I will definitely buy this again along with the pine shale shampoo because I noticed the deeply nourishing aspects of the shampoo and was impressed with the way the conditioner deeply nourished my hair in the way you would expect a reconstructing conditioner to impress you.

I find that the two products I tried are even further enhanced when I blend them with shampoos and conditioners I already have. I think that is because they are so highly concentrated and by adding them to other shampoos and conditioners, you extend the benefits and can enjoy each 200ml bottle a little longer.

If you are interested in essential oils or love the idea of encouraging healthy hair growth through deep cleansing the scalp, then this will be of interest. I noticed my hair felt thicker and more vibrant after just one application.

This conditioner is a spa quality product (a bit like a mud mask, except this uses plants and herbs) and I can recommend it to you if you are looking for a very healing product that will enhance the health of your hair (my hair seems stronger and more moisturized) and scalp (deeply cleansed and comforted).

I'm fascinated by the Morrocco Method products and after trying the first two items, I'm looking forward to trying even more. They seem especially nourishing, pure, healing and balancing.

I love Aveda products, but this one did not do justice for me. I have scalp problems such as dandruff, dry scalp and oily scalp. My scalp actually dried out and got flaky from this shampoo. I only use it now if I need to dry out my scalp. The scent is earthy, like many Avedas. I only wish I didn't have 2 bottles now and would have tried a smaller one first.

I use this product at least once a week-it has been years since I have had any dandruff problems. It has a fresh, clean scent, suitable for male or female. It also rinses out quite easily-I go camping from March through October, and in some of the primative sites, I know it will rinse out with the solar shower.
This product is something I would reccomend for anyone looking for a "dandruff" shampoo that works, and does not smell of chemicals. Usually I use it with the Nature's Gate Herbal Conditioner-another wonderful product.

Review of DermOrganic Leave-In Treatment with Argan Oil

I have been using biosilk for many many years now, and recently my bottle was running low and i wanted to try something new. My hair is naturally oily. I have to wash it once daily to prevent it from looking oily. This product did not leave my hair greasy, and i recently started having these little flyaway hairs sticking up all over the place. This product left those hairs evenly blending in with the rest of my hair (they didn't stick up anymore) and also left my hair VERY shiny and soft (much softer than the biosilk did).

The smell to me was kinda fruity, like a grape candy almost, but the smell doesn't stay on your hair when you put the product on, it seems to just intensify whatever smell (such as the scent of your shampoo) is already in your hair. Personally i do like the way it smells though.

I've been using it for over a month now and am still very pleased with it. My only suggestion is to not use too much of it. A little bit really goes a long way. The days that I used more than recommended, my hair the next day when I woke up was more oily than normal. My hair is very thick and long and I only have to use smaller than a dime size for all of my hair, then I use another size half that amount for the ends of my hair.

And last but not least, you can also use this product on your skin. I've been using it on my legs after I shave and it leaves my legs silky smoothe and soft and also decreases the skin irritation from the razor.

I absolutely love this product and highly recommend it!

This is a very nicely packaged and reasonably priced item.I gave it to my mother for Christmas 2007, and she loved it.The pasta was so fragrant that we had to hold the dog back to keep him from tearing into it himself.

Scalp feels lighter, relaxed. Says good for all hair types including color treated. It's so concentrated even with my long hair, only a tiny bit is plenty, so you get your money's worth. I do like the conditioner more & conditioner really softens my hair more then this shampoo.
Within 2 uses, my hair felt softer & a little shinier. After now THREE MONTHS, my hair is very soft, very shinny, supple/soft more then it's EVER been since I was a kid. My hair looks perfect for a hair care commercial. Yes, it's flatter, but used to be white person's afro from all the frizziness. It's nowhere near flat iron flat & my natural curls still have body. I'm not sure if this shampoo is a little drying, but I definitely love the conditioner. Don't expect added volume, just curl definition/smoother.
Check out the manufacturer's site by looking up the name. No, not being paid for this, just good, natural product & hope with this to make sure they keep producing it due to demand.

I bought this blow dryer for my mother and it turned out to be a fine purchase. It's pretty light and manageable, not bulky like some other blow dryers, but it's got power and it's settings are easy to use. My mother is rather clumsy and has already dropped it a couple of times and it still works like new, therefore, it's also pretty durable. Comes with various accessories and a ceramic straightening iron. All in all, a very good purchase and product.

Nature's Baby Organics was founded by a mother of two girls. She created the product line after both of her daughters suffered from skin allergies and eczema. When I first read about the product. Vanilla Tangerine sounded weird, but once I smelled it I was in love with the scent. It smells like an orange creamsicle. I love Shampoo/Bodywash combos, because I only like messing with one product. I love how this product felt. It is very light weight and did not leave any residue on Elianna's skin or in the sink (I still bathe her in the sink).
